Multiples:
Confidence in identification: 100%
Notes: To my knowledge, this interesting retouch has not been reported earlier. As yet, no dated copies have been reported, but the variety is from the Montreal printings - complete with LL guide dot. This is the clearest example of a retouch on the Small Queen issue that I have seen. Information of dated copies would be very helpful.

An example of plate wear which would make retouching the plate appropriate.
It is possible that the retouching was done before the plate was put into production, but if so, it should be found more often.

A different variety, and the only copy I have seen. It may be a retouch, or, more likely, a printing flaw. There is an indentation in the paper inside the arc, which may have caused the ink around the outside.
Again, a report of any additional copies would be most helpful.
