Notes: The earliest of the three reported copies of this variety is dated May 14, 1891. It shows the 'ripples' under the blob very clearly. The size of of the blob seems to remain constant as the ripples wear. W. Simpson suggested that this variety came from one of the four 'S' plates (S1 - S4)
